Amazon Fashion plans category specific events after ‘Denim Fest’ success

Amazon India is planning to organize category specific events on its fashion vertical to boost sales and attract new customers after the success of the recently concluded ‘Denim Fest’ event. The ecommerce is major is focusing on kids’ apparels, T-shirts, sneakers, precious jewelry etc. The denim fest saw top denim brands on Amazon fashion contributing close to 70 per cent to the total denim sales across five days.
Arun Sirdeshmukh, XHead, Amazon Fashion points out the etailer will continue to host category focused events on their platform just like the denim fest. The other categories the company will be focusing on are kid’s fashion, sneakers, T-shirts, formals, etc to showcase their strength in selection, the companies’ strong collaboration with brands. Fashion is among the fastest growing segment on the platform. The vertical works as a magnet for the ecommerce player to attract new customers. He further added, 30 per cent of new customers for Amazon.in come from Amazon fashion.
