Amazon Great India Sale begins today

Amazon India has launched a 72-hour marathon Great India Sale from January 21. It has discounts ranging from 20-40 per cent on more than 40 international brands launched by Amazon in the last six months. The deals can be accessed through consumers’ PC, mobiles or mobile apps. A wide selection of products will be on offer for the customers to choose from. Instant discounts on Amazon.in gift cards can be enjoyed by the customers. The sale is on till January 23.

Since it began operations three years ago, Amazon has emerged as the largest store with more than 40 million products. In 2015 it saw sales growing four times over 2014 while increasing the number of sellers by three times. In 2015, it close the festive season as the most visited e-commerce site. It had over 200 million visitors in October as per comScore research. Flipkart had 164 million visitors while Snapdeal had 109 million.

What has been working in favour of the company is the fact that it has the largest fulfilment and storage capacity in India which helps it to offer premium services of morning delivery, same day delivery and Sunday delivery. Recently, the company put in Rs 1,237 crores into Amazon Seller, thus taking its overall investment to Rs 3,000 crores in just six months.

Samir Kumar, vice president, category management, Amazon India informed that top deals will be available 15 minutes earlier on the mobile app, ‘giving customers a better chance to bag the deal of their choice if they are on the go’.
