Bagzone is rebranded as House of Samsonite

Globally acclaimed travel and lifestyle brand Samsonite has rechristened its multi-brand retail store Bagzone as House of Samsonite. The first such store was launched at Indore’s Treasure Island Mall. The other 25 Bagzone stores that the company operates will also be soon launched under the new format. By December end, 50 House of Samsonite will be opened across India.

In addition to these stores, the company will also launch new stores through the company owned/operated and franchise formats. And in the new format three brands: Samsonite, American Tourister and High Sierra, will be retailed. These three brands cater to different age groups and tastes. In the future, the store will include Lipault too. The company will spend anything between Rs 20-30 lakh per store and the funding will be done through internal accruals.

Alok Bishnoi, Director, All India sales, Samsonite South Asia, informs that the first such large format store will open in a mall in Pune. In fact, all House of Samsonite stores will be housed inside malls. Samsonite has a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore in its India operations. Through the launch of new format stores, the company is looking at a growth of 15-20 per cent.
