Comet expands physical retail footprint with first Mumbai location

Indian footwear brand Comet has launched its first standalone store in Mumbai, located at Park Eleven on 11th Road in Khar West.

The 1,500-square-foot location marks a key milestone in the Bengaluru-based sneaker brand's brick and mortar expansion across India. The interior features an experiential retail layout, centered around a life-size astronaut sculpture and live moss installations designed to reflect the company's brand identity.

"Mumbai has always felt like a natural city for Comet," said Utkarsh Gupta, co-founder of Comet. "It has this constant energy, where people, ideas and culture are always moving and colliding. With the Mumbai store, we wanted to take the world we have built through Comet and give it a physical space."

The retail space houses Comet’s core footwear offerings alongside new limited releases from its proprietary lines. Founded in 2023 by Utkarsh Gupta and Dishant Daryani, the direct-to-consumer (D2C) footwear label designs and develops all products in-house, including its proprietary Spacewalk and SpacewalkX sole technology.

With the addition of the Khar West store, Comet now operates 11 retail locations across India, alongside distribution across leading online and offline wholesale platforms.
