Metro Shoes and leading footwear brand Crocs have tied up to roll out exclusive stores of the colourful and oddly-shaped shoes in India. Crocs plans to open 100 exclusive outlets in three years with the help of Metro Shoes which is its National Retail Partner.

Metro Shoes has invested around Rs 40 crores and is expecting a sale target of over Rs 100 crores during this period. Metro Shoes has a lead over Crocs as it understands the region, has brand experience and proven success at helping brands grow – essential requisites for a brand like Crocs to increase its footprints in the country. Metro Shoes is present nationally in over 300 stores and operates in 90 cities.

Metro Shoes plans to open 75 new stores in different formats across India in the current financial year. The company is looking to clock in Rs 1,060 crores revenues this fiscal, up from Rs 917 crores last year. Even its e-commerce site, www.metroshoes.net is growing at 200-250 percent on a year-on-year basis.

Farah Malik, MD and CEO, Metro Shoes attributes the company’s success to a smart mix of opening stores and catchment areas, using the company-owned model of expansion and offering discerning consumers a proposition that connects quality and affordability. Crocs was established in 2002 and since then has sold more than 300 million pairs of shoes in more than 90 countries around the world.
