DLF’s luxury arm plans to launch a luxury property, The Chanakya, as well as bring in brands like Longchamp, G-Star Raw, Hunkemoller, Juicy Couture, La Perla and Chanel Beauty to its Emporio and Promenade malls this year. The Chanakya will come up in Lutyens’ Delhi and will offer mix of bridge to luxury and luxury brands.

DLF Promenade has recorded year-on-year sales growth of 8-9 per cent and its footfalls have increased 11-13 per cent. Experts believe it is exciting time for retail. Dinaz Madhukar, Senior VP, DLF Luxury Retail says new international brands such as DC Shoes, BCB Generation and G Star Raw have been lined up. Presently, they are in talks with leading international brands such as Hermes, Valentino, Tom Ford Women etc, and bridge to luxury brands such as Reiss, Kate Spade, Karen Millen and so on.

In the last one year 25 per cent inventory in Promenade had gone through a churn as the company looked at reworking and relocating store formats. DLF requested brands like Versace and DKNY to give some of their existing space to brands like Bvlgari and Tumi at The Emporio. According to Madhukar, categories like beauty, food, and apparel continue to do well in retail. She says, that DLF Luxury will continue to encourage popup store formats to enable brands to get temporary platforms.
