The only for women’s fashion e-tailer, Limeroad, has now launched a section for men too. This has been done to boost revenue. The fashion e-tailer founded by Suchi Mukherjee wants to provide affordable clothing for men.

Prices for men’s products start at Rs 300. There are three segments for men – super affordable (Rs 300-Rs 499), budget (Rs 500-Rs 999) and premium (Rs 1,000 upwards). The launch of men’s apparel will also bridge the gap that exists between the desire to dress well and the lack of knowledge on how to do it. The men’s segment has 23 sub-categories of apparel and accessories from over 250 Indian and international brands. The categories include top and bottom wear, ethnic wear and innerwear among others. Brands such as, ColorPlus, Globus, Raymond, Armani, Cross, Park Avenue, Pepe Jeans, Spykar and Metro, are available on the site.

Limeroad creates looks by assembling different products such as a pair of shoes or belt to go with a specific denim garment. The work is done by over 200,00 scrapbookers on the platform. The same is done for women customers too. So far, the site claims to have over 100,000 style suggestions and products for men on the site.

In India, menswear market is larger than womenswear. A study by Technopak estimates that the menswear segment accounts for 42 per cent of the entire market size of Rs 87,500 crore as it stood in 2012. Womeswear made up only 38 per cent. The menswear market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.5 per cent to reach Rs 1.31 trillion by 2017.
