GAP, The Childrens Place to spread retail, open more EBOs

Two leading MNC apparel brands viz GAP and The Childrens Place, are looking to expand their retail network in India with more store openings. Both are planning to open five more exclusive stores while strengthening shop in shop presence. Casual brand GAP and kids’ wear brand The Childrens Place (TCP) from Arvind Group are looking to spread their retail footprint with EBOs in North and West India. TCP will also be taken to various large format stores. Prakash Thwani, EVP Operations, GAP and TCP, says for new 10 stores, the company is already exploring locations. These will be a mix of metros and non-metros. The Childrens Place is already present in large formats like Shoppers Stop and Iconic. The company plans to strengthen brand’s retail presence in other stores.

Both have around 10 stores each mostly in metros and mini metros. GAP stores are sized between 5, to7,000 square feet while the TCP store vary between 1,500 to 2,200 square feet. The brands will soon debut in Tier-II cities.
