Swedish retail giant Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) marches ahead in its expansion plans in India. After successfully launching stores in Delhi, Bangalore and Gurgaon, it has now trained its eyes on Noida, opening its 4,000th store in the world. The store was opened at DLF Mall of India and is spread out 37,000 square feet.

Spread out over four levels of prime retail space and the store is a full-concept flagship store with a complete range of accessories for women, men, teenagers and children. In-store sections dedicated to concepts like H&M Sports for active wear, H&M Mama for expecting mothers, plus size collection H&M+ amongst intimates and denim, will be some of the innovative features.

As per Karl-Johan Persson, CEO, H&M since 2010, the company had doubled the number of stores. Jane Einola, Country Manager, H&M India adds that since 2015, when they opened their first store, they have had a good reception, and hence are confident of growing at a fast pace in the Indian market.

H&M opened its first store in India in Delhi in October 2015 followed by a second store in Delhi again in December. H&M has grown from a single women’s wear shop in Vasteras, Sweden to six independent brands and 3,900 stores in 61 markets around the world.
