After being in the fashion industry for 35 years, Indo-French brand, Lecoanet Hemant continue to stick to their focus. They would continue working for shows and collections as per international formats. This means they would be seen less on runways and the focus would be on accessibility. Soon, they would be available online and through e-commerce sites.
Hemant Sagar, brand spokersperson and designer believes that e-commerce and today’s world needs more novelty than a collection every six months. Recently, the designer organised a preview of their Spring/Summer 2016 collection of the brand GENES-Lecoanet Hemant. The collection is an inspiration of two iconic decades – the swinging sixties and seventies. It comprises sequinned embroidered blouses, cutwork dresses, floral shorts and appliques, thus bringing a breath of fresh air to the collection. GENES was launched last year.
The designers believe in showing fashionable yet breathable clothes. They have worked in the past with weavers and artisans to obtain organically conceived and manufactured collections. Presently, the brand is in the process of reinforcing its retail presence.
