Mafatlal Industries ventures into school and corporate uniforms

Mafatlal Industries Ltd (MIL) has made its entry into readymade school and corporate uniforms. MIL is the flagship company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group. The company is looking at Rs 500 crores business in this segment in the next five years.

In the first year itself, the company is confident of doing a business of around Rs 75 crores in corporate readymade uniform category. All the products will be available at all Mafatlal family shops, uniform shops and retailers. Uniforms will also be available on the recently launched e-commerce site.

What makes this e-commerce business unique is the fact that both offline and online businesses will be merged in such a way that online will be a business and service provider to the offline retail stores. In this model, the online business will not affect the offline business.

Mafatlal Industries has been at the forefront of quality textiles in India since 1905. Its product portfolio consists of yarn dyed shirting, suiting, voiles, prints, linens, bleached white fabrics, rubia, value added and fashion denims, school uniform fabrics, corporate/institutional uniforms, bed and bath linen and readymade garments. Mafatlal Industries sells over 85 million metres of cloth per annum.
