Malaysian kids’ wear brand Poney is in an expansion mode in India. It is all set to launch its second store in India at DLF Saket mall. It also plans to introduce its high-end range called ‘Enfants’.
The brand offers high quality clothes for infants and children up to the age of 15 years. Its Spring Summer 2016 collection will be launched at the new store. It will offer classic silhouette, playful paint and soft abstract prints with decorative floral embellishments, romance lace and woven spandex materials to capture the essence of the season. The colour palette will be mainly Maui blue, lemon meringue, blue curacao, bridal rose, apricot buff and silver birch.
Albert Tan, founder of Poney, believes India is a potential market because consumers here seek quality and style. He is eyeing strata A and B segment of the target audience. In 2015, Poney entered into a partnership with Franchise India to expand its presence in the Indian market. It will open MBOs and shop-in-shops across metros and Tier I cities in the first five years.
