Sabhyata plans to add more stores across India

Ethnic wear brand Sabhyata plans to have 100 stores in India by 2017. This will be a mix of company-owned and franchised stores and will be in states like Kerala, Gujarat and West Bengal. Each store will entail an investment of Rs 10 crores. At present, the company has 42 stores. It is looking at Rs 350 crores turnover in five to seven years. It may also ramp up e-commerce sales and exports and consider opening stores outside India.

The company is expecting revenues of Rs 100 crores by the end of this fiscal. It had reported a turnover of Rs 75 crores in the previous fiscal. Known for its collection of ethnic wear for women, it is also planning to launch Indo-western formal and casual wear for women and expand the product for men. It also has plans to enter the junior wear segment.

Sabhyata opened in 2003. At present it sells through online marketplace Jabong, but also plans to launch its own e-commerce platform. The ethnic wear market is currently growing at 15 to 20 percent per annum and is dominated by women’s ethnic wear which contributes 83 percent to the total market.
