Launched as an adventure sports footwear and apparel brand having products such as trekking boots and lightweight jackets, Woodland will now add products such as mobile phones, anti-mosquito clothing and dry suits for sea-diving, cycles, surfboards and kayaks to its portfolio.
Woodland aims to make investments worth Rs 100 crores on expanding retail presence as well as diversification and manufacturing. With revenue of over Rs 1,200 crores reported last year through over 500 stores, the company now aims to achieve a revenue target of over Rs 1,500-crores this fiscal year.
The company also plans to venture into the Russian and CIS markets after making an exit from the region during the Soviet era. Aero Group, which used to sell unbranded products to USSR, will now re-enter with Woodland, an international brand built in India. The company targets 40 percent of revenues from international markets in three to four years.
