Bata sees 15 per cent growth in Q3

Bata India has seen an increase of 27.53 per cent in net profit at Rs 44.56 crores for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015-16. During the same period last year, the company had posted a net profit of Rs 34.94 crored. The company’s net sales have gone up to Rs 617.22 crores for the third quarter, up by 15 per cent as compared to Rs 536.72 crores in the same period a year ago.

Bata has been focusing a lot on improving shopper’s experience within the store. As a result aggressive training programme for sales people is held regularly so that they can provide customers with better experience. Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, Group Managing Director, South Asia, Bata India says that the company will now expand their product offering in addition to strengthening their e-commerce business. This will help them to reach out to a large consumer base.

Bata operates a total 1,254 stores in more than 500 cities across India with 1,108 Bata stores, 105 Hush Puppies and 41 Footin stores.
