eBay launches an exclusive online watch mall

Ecommerce player eBay has launched an exclusive online watch mall offering over 65,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) with access to 26 exclusive international brands, and more than 200 global and local brands of watches. While the average selling price of a men's watch on the online mall would be 100 dollars (over Rs 6,300), women’s watches would be priced at 50 dollars (over Rs 3,100).

According to the industry estimates, the size of Indian watch industry is at 834 million dollars (over Rs 5,300 crores), which is witnessing a growth at 10 percent every year. With the boom of the ecommerce industry, the current online market for watches is estimated at 32 million dollars (over Rs 200 crores) and continues to grow at 35 percent annually.
