Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has reportedly invested 13 million dollars in the Indian online baby and kids apparel and products retailer Hopscotch.
As reported by the ‘Economic Times’, Saverin’s investment has taken the company’s total fundraising to date to 28 million dollars.
This is not the first time that the co-founder of the social network has bet on Hopstcotch, as a year ago, Saverin’s VC fund Velos Partners infused 11 million dollars in the Mumbai-based online retailer towards Series B round of funding.
US-based Rise Capital, Middle East-based Jabbar Internet Group, and existing investors Singapore-based Lionrock Capital and Skype co-founder Toivo Annus, also participated in the round.
Previously, Hopscotch had secured 2 million dollars from LionRock Capital, Nisaba Godrej and Skype Co-founder Toivo Annus.
Started in 2012 by Rahul Anand and Lisa Kennedy, Hopscotch offers baby and kids’ products, including apparel, shoes, toys, books, and moms & maternity products. Their unique business model allows each brand’s collection to be available for only a fixed period of time.
