FirstCry reports 50 per cent loss at Rs 63.73 crores for FY15

FirstCry, the baby care e-portal, reported a loss of Rs 62.73 crores for the fiscal ending March 31, 2015. Last year, it was Rs 41.71 crores. The company reported total revenue of Rs 118.08 crores which is more than last year’s when it was Rs 73.78 crores.

FirstCry is run by Pune-based Brainbee Solutions. It works on a mixed model of physical and inventory outlets which are spread out across India. It operates more than 150 branded franchisees across the country and has tie-ups with Funskool, Pampers, Disney, Barbie, Hotwheels, Fisher Price and Ben10. Recently, Ratan Tata invested an undisclosed amount in the e-portal. So far, FirstCry has raised 69 million dollars (Rs 466 million) from investors such as IDG Ventures India, SAIF Partners, Temasek Holding, Vertex Ventures, Valiant Capital and New Enterprise Associate.

FirstCry sells baby care and maternity products. It is in direct competition with FlintoBox, Mycity4kids, KleverKid, Tiny Steps, Babyoye, Hushbabies, Toonz and Precared.
