The Marc Jacobs brand may still be in the process of shuttering its diffusion stores, but it is steadily rebuilding its brand which now integrates both its mainline and Marc by Marc Jacobs price points.

The company today announced it has signed an agreement with FJ Benjamin in Singapore to be the sole distributor for the Marc Jacobs brand both in its local market and other as yet unspecified markets in Asia.

FJ Benjamin will open a serie of stores in Malaysia and Indonesia with four due in the next two years. The boutiques will carry the full range of Marc Jacobs’ women’s RTW, as well as its footwear, accessories and jewellery. Stores for men are thought to be opened at a later date.

"We are delighted to represent Marc Jacobs, one of the most exciting and sought after fashion brands in the world," said FJ Benjamin Holdings' group chief operating officer Douglas Benjamin. "We welcome the brand into our portfolio and look forward to its success in the markets we serve."

FJ Benjamin's current portfolio includes brands Banana Republic and Guess, as well as various watch brands such as Bell & Ross.

Earlier in May, the fashion group reported a decline in third-quarter earnings, posting a net loss of 6.99 million Singapore dollars for the three months ended March 31, compared to a loss of 4.87 million Singapore dollars from a year ago. Meanwhile, revenue fell 23 per cent to 69.7 million Singapore dollars over the same period.
