Online pays good dividend
An as per Narinder Singh, Managing Director, Numero Uno Clothing explains the biggest contributor to Numero Uno’s online business is Flipkart.“Our online presence has been increasing ever since we decided to go live in the year 2012. In a short span of time, we have successfully established our brand on all top e-commerce sites viz. Myntra, Jabong and Flipkart. We also have our own e-commerce site that is doing well and are in process of restructuring the site and will be presenting an all new user-friendly avatar to give an ultimate digital shopping experience,” he further explained.
The brand has introduced men’s faux leather jackets in three colours. The style has been inspired by motorists and the brand is optimistic it will be a huge hit among bikers. The material used is extremely soft and washed leatherite. It is available in tan, deep olive and black shades this season. “We are already getting an amazing response for it look forward to finish the season on a high note,” he says. “We also introduced girl’s black biker jacket, an updated, perfect-fitting biker jacket in black coated fabric for that ultimate cool-girl appeal,” adds Singh.
The other highlights this season are flannel shirts that come in different shades, cotton camouflage print jacket, denim trucker jackets, jog denims and washed denim shirts. Besides this, the brand has come up with a huge collection that includes denims, trousers, shirts, jackets, shoes, caps, mufflers and bags that will complement the A/W season. While denims have finer detailing in back pockets and washes, the upper wear collection is bright and peppy.
Increasing retail presence
Numero Uno is successfully running more than 180 exclusive stores across the country. “We have more than 20 company owned stores and also have a strong presence in over 800 MBOs across the country. We are also present in top LFS like Shoppers Stop’s 23 outlets, Easy Day’s 16 outlets and Best Price 20 outlets,” he informs.Numero Uno has primarily been a North India centric brand, however, the brand has been steadily expanding its footprint in east, west and south. In east, the brand has opened stores in Durgapur, Asansol and Kolkata. In west, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Nashik have come up, whereas in south Hyderabad and Belgaum are some places where they have opened stories. “Our aim is to be present in all metros and Tier I cities in the next 2-3 years,” says Singh. The brand still has to tap the market in south and East India in a big way. “We are steadily expanding our footprint in these regions. We have already opened exclusive stores in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad,” Singh sums up.
