Safexpress, India’s biggest supply chain and logistics firm for fashion recently opened its state-of-the-art Logistics Park at Faridabad. Spread over 1,80,000 square foot Logistics Park has a column-less span of over 151 feet and enables loading/unloading of over 26 vehicles si multaneously. The dedicated bays and docks at the facility provide an uninterrupted and unidirectional flow of inbound and outbound goods.

“Safexpress, with headquarters in New Delhi serves to 5,801 pin codes. With this new facility, we will cater to an area from Badalpur border in Delhi to Koshi border in UP. Koshi border is 40 kilometers from here. This 85 kilometer belt will be served from this new hub. Whatever products industries are producing along this belt, will be delivered across India from Faridabad-based park,” informs Pawan Jain, Director of Safexpress.

The company is in the process of developing similar hi-tech facilities in Dhule, Maharashtra and in Guwahati. “After GST implementation, we think our business in door to door, inter border, cross border, inter-state will grow. And this facility will enhance that quality,” avers Jain.

The Logistics Park has a floor load capacity of six metric tonnes per square meter and has a truck docking area width of over 73 feet. To provide safe and smooth movement of goods within the park, the company has installed high-tech equipment and it has also taken special efforts to follow its go-green initiative by investing in rainwater harvesting and developing special green zones.

“We are already doing business in this area for many customers. To enhance our service quality, we thought of creating a better facility. It is a technically designed building. And 36 vehicles can load and unload at a time. Forklifts can be done. The facility runs 24/7. This is the 27th infrastructure of this kind in India. We have eight million square foot across India. Our aim was to create ten million square feet across India by 2015. We are on track,” asserts Jain.

The company is engaged in pan-India distribution with door to door facility. IT has small godowns and warehouses across India and at strategic locations like Nagpur or Indore; it has huge warehouses, which can supply all over India. “We cover every nook and corner of the north east. We cover every square inch of India except Kerala. E-commerce is adding to logistics. People keep ordering from online retailers. We work with most e-commerce portals. We are in the service industry and service is already contributing 55 percent to GDP. Being in the service industry I feel logistics will play an important role,” exclaims Jain.
