Scalpers backs streetwear by taking a stake in Yuxus

Seville-based fashion group and brand Scalpers has taken a stake in Yuxus, a Madrid-based youth fashion brand founded in 2018. Both companies have presented the deal as a strategic alliance in a statement.

Guillermo and Álvaro Ferre, founders of Yuxus, will continue to lead the business. Scalpers Company joins as a strategic partner to support the development of the Ferre brothers' company, which enters the agreement with over half a million social media followers, 14 points-of-sale and nearly 100 employees.

The size of the stake and the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Through this deal, the two brands are launching a joint expansion plan that aims to consolidate Yuxus in its current markets and expand it into new countries.

A new stage for a brand that grew without investors

Yuxus was founded in 2018 by three 16-year-old friends from Madrid, Fernando Carrillo and brothers Álvaro and Guillermo Ferre, who raised 1,000 euros to launch their first batch of T-shirts, according to its founders in an interview with FashionUnited. For over five years, it operated exclusively as a digital brand. As they explained at the time, it grew without external investors, prioritising turnover over profit and reinvesting resources into its own expansion.

The move follows a period of transformation for the brand. In March 2025, Fernando Carrillo left the management, leaving the Ferre brothers in charge. In September, the firm appointed Víctor Ariza as its first creative and design director, with whom it launched “Hongdae”, its first signature collection, and began to establish itself as a fashion house. Months later, it expanded its audience with “For Her”, its first line designed for women, having previously offered only unisex styles.

This shift is supported by rapid commercial growth. Yuxus entered the physical retail channel in September 2023 with its first store on Fuencarral Street in Madrid. This was followed by its own stores in Valencia and Seville, corners in El Corte Inglés and a presence in multi-brand spaces.

The company's turnover increased from one million euros (1.15 million dollars) in 2022 to three million in 2023, and it set a target of exceeding ten million in 2024. The company has the ambition to double sales in 2025 and is eyeing international markets such as the US.

The Scalpers ecosystem

For Scalpers, the deal extends its strategy of building a group of brands with their own distinct identities. Founded in Seville in 2007 as a menswear brand recognisable by its skull logo, the company has diversified its offering with lines such as Scalpers Kids in 2012; Scalpers Woman in 2018; and a girls' line in 2019. Today, the Scalpers group also includes Vicky Martín Berrocal's guest-wear fashion firm, Victoria, footwear brand Mim Shoes and surf sportswear brand Deeply.

The investment in Yuxus now gives it a foothold in the streetwear segment and a direct connection to younger audiences, an area where Spanish brands are excelling. The Seville-based company enters this alliance from a strong position. It closed 2024 with a turnover of 220 million euros, a 10 percent increase on the previous year, and 370 points-of-sale across 11 countries. It also has around 1,500 employees and a stated goal of reaching 300 million euros in sales this financial year.
