Bangalore-based fashion ecommerce start-up Eat.Shop.Love has raised 3.5 million dollars (Rs 22 crores) in angel funding from a London-based investor. The company aims utilise this money to execute its plan of moving from a vendor-sourcing model to an exclusive brand with in-house designers. The ecommerce portal had earlier raised 1 million dollars (over Rs 6.2 crore) in seed funding round last October.

Having the experience of managing fashion brands for a long time, Co-founder Oindrila Sengupta is keen on getting the right talent to establish an in-house and dedicated design team, while setting up its own manufacturing units. Expansion plans are on the cards, as the company aims to spread wings to cities like Delhi and Mumbai. The company’s growth strategy also includes offering 24-hour delivery by coming July, when it would launch the debut in-house collection.

Eat.Shop.Love was established in July 2014 catering to the modern urban women who prefer to live life on their own terms and make independent choices when it comes to fashion and travel. The platform now delivers 175-200 orders per day, which would double by the end of the year. The average order size placed on Eat.Shop.Love is Rs 900. To establish a strong brand from scratch, Dasgupta's husband Shayak Sen, the former head of user experience at online housing portal CommonFloor, has joined as cofounder, while designer-entrepreneur Achyutha Sharma was roped in as head of brand and marketing.
