Tata International aims to double its revenues in three years

Tata International, the global trading and distribution arm of Tata Group, is targeting doubling revenues from Rs 800 crores to Rs 1,700 crores in the next three years from leather and leather products and exports. The aim is to increase exports of leather footwear from six million pairs in FY15 to 11 million pairs over the next three years.

Tata International's product portfolio consists of a wide range of footwear, finished leather and garments. The company has been exporting to over 35 countries and is also the largest exporter of children's shoes from India. Tata International also has a major stake in Move-On Shoes, a leading Portuguese footwear retailer.

In November, last year, the company commercially launched American women's footwear brand Aerosoles in India. US-based Aerogroup International and Tata International had first announced the strategic alliance between them to produce and market Aerosoles brand in Europe and India in 2012. Tata International had acquired the licensing agreement for 35 years.

The Tata Group company invested 1.5 million dollars (over Rs nine crore) as an initial investment into the brand, now it will make further three to four million dollars (Rs 18 to over Rs 24 crores) in phased manner over next three to four years. Aerosoles aims to earn a revenue of Rs 180 crores in the next three years from India by selling five lakh pairs of Aerosoles. The company has tied-up with multi-brand retail outlets like Metro Shoes, Regal Shoes, Rocia, Inc 5 and Tata company Westside.
