While these three labels: Louis Philippe, Van Heusen and Peter England took almost 10-15 years to achieve the Rs 500 crores revenue mark, they achieved the Rs 1,000 crores in less than five years. Now the company expects them to report Rs 1,500 crores, in even lesser timeframe. While Louis Philippe is expected to cross the target next year, Madura F&L looks forward to having three Rs 1,500 crores brands in its portfolio in the next two to three years.
Arvind Lifestyle’s brands US Polo and Arrow are already close to Rs 850 crores and these are expected to reach Rs 1,000 crores this fiscal year. Even American clothing brand Forever 21, launched in India two years ago, will report Rs 500 crores in revenue in fiscal 2016, and Rs1,000 crores in next three years. And Inditex Trent Retail India, the joint venture between Inditex SA and Tata Group company Trent that runs Zara in India, posted 24 percent annual growth in sales for the year ended March 2015 at Rs 721 crores. Zara, experts say, could be the first international brand to hit the Rs1,000 crores mark in the country.
