Though Zodiac Clothing Company’s reports low profit and income from operations in the September quarter, compared to the same quarter in 2013, Anees Y Noorani, VC & MD of the company is optimistic about the growth by focusing on branded business. Apart from investing in its own retail business, the company is looking for good locations available at reasonable prices to expand retail horizon. Also on the radar is exploring new markets like Latin America, the Middle East as well as in the US to reach out to a wider customer base.

Noorani attributes the poor performance to its international business getting negatively affected by the situation in the EU and subsequent price wars to grab a larger share of the market pie. Zodiac is positioned as a premium Italian inspired, classic menswear brand for a contemporary male dresser. To address the new generation, the company has launched Zod! which is a very fashionable, trendy range of shirts. It addresses the needs of the 20-35 year old male, who is socially active.

Zodiac has entered the ‘Fine Tailoring’ segment of suits and trousers, besides successfully launching a club wear brand Zod! Zodiac has successfully created a contemporary look retail chain of stores across India. Its products primarily include shirts, trousers, and ties and accessories, such as belts and cufflinks.
