Bangladeshi fashion designer and former international model Bibi Russell, who has been working with artisans from Rajasthan for some time now, would be showcasing her winter collection inspired by Rajasthani weaves during Rajasthan Heritage Week in December.

Russell recently displayed a range of Kota doria sari, skirt and dresses of lehariya besides trousers, shirts and waistcoats for men at the newly revamped Bikaner House. The new ready to wear collection for winter will be a mix of ready to wear made from Khadi, Kota fabrics and accessories. Last year, Russel visited Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Barmer in Rajasthan on the request of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. The aim was to make sure that the new khadi creations would be a blend of traditional and modern designs, for which a three-month research campaign was launched under her guidance.

The Rajasthan Heritage Week is a Textile Development Project in association with the Government of Rajasthan aims to encourage collaboration of designers and weavers with focus on promoting khadi and Kota along with the up-liftment of artisans and weavers.
