New York-based sportswear label Trademark, founded in 2013 by Pookie and
Louisa Burch has unveiled a spring collection inspired by India. Known for
its minimalistic designs, the brand offers affordable and contemporary line
of clothing for men and women that include shoes, handbags and
accessories. Trademark
is built around signature essentials designed to be worn as one’s own
trademark.
The spring 2015 collection inspired by India as showcased in Jean Renoir's 1951 film, The River. Merchandise for women includes tunic suiting, shirting for dresses, plaid and collarless jackets, and menswear collection consists of crew neck sweatshirts with city-names such as Delhi, Jaipur and Udaipur.
Accessories include paint-cracked leather sandals with hand tie-knot detailing inspired by Chupplee East Indian sandals, Trademark 'IDchain' loafers and suede 'fold-back' slippers and furniture of Le Corbusier. Square leather bags with thick straps or chain detailing remind of vintage travel pieces.
