The global wedding industry estimated to be worth over 300 billion dollars, is only growing bigger by the day. Now Asian weddings are more of an amalgamation of age-old traditions and modern concepts.
While the wedding event management industry witnessed a considerable dip in their business during economic downturn in 2008 to mid-2010, things have changed and the market has bounced back once again. Everyone from caterers, wedding consultants, bridal wear designers, beauty salons, jewellers, photographers, DJs, florists to honeymoon tour organisers and hotel industry are thriving on the growing prospects of this industry.
While thousands of couples around the world are busy preparing for a fairytale day with a dream of ‘living happily ever after’ or ‘until death do us part’...FashionUnited looks at the trends that are positively influencing the big fat wedding industry. The first part of this editorial series is India.
