Denis Parker’s new collection inspired by Avadhi nawabs

Homegrown menswear brand Denis Parker is excited about the forthcoming season which should spell big bucks for it. Last season it had grown 30 percent and based on that the manufacturer is expecting to higher growth this year. It is also looking at expanding into South Indian in states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu which have great potential for their kind of clothing.
The brand has a wide range of apparels such as designer suits, formal suits, waistcoat, waistcoat set, sherwanis and Indo-westerns in bright colours like purple, mauve, green, red and wine. Fabrics like velvets, jute and its blends, flock, fancy tweed in bright colours are in trends this season. Tartan checks and plaids, too, are in the season, they have been used in the Autumn-Winter 2016 collection. Says Manoj Gupta, MD, “Our brand’s style statement is ‘latest men’s fashion at very affordable prices’.” We offer quality and comfort. Our USP is its styling, designing, detailing and fabric selection. With focus on styles and designs the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is inspired by Nawabs of Avadh.” For the collection, cotton satin shirt has been used. Waistcoats are in silk prints are also part of the collection. Digital prints, flock prints are very in for this season.
Designer wear at best prices
Denis Parker has also started a new collection M&S-by Manoj & Sanjeev. It is a pure designer wear boutique collection for the upper middle class. It has been uniquely designed in different fabrics with multiple techniques of garment embellishment and is priced very reasonably. Minimal use of embroidery has been done and main focus is on fabric, accessory and Italian cuts. Bright colour palette like purple, mauve, green, red and wine have been used.
Menswear a growing market
Gupta says domestic apparel market was worth Rs 207,400 crores in 2012 and was expected to grow at CAGR of 9 percent over the next decade. With a market size of Rs 87,500 crores, menswear is the largest segment in apparel market. It accounts for 42 percent while women’s wear makes up 38 percent and kids’ wear 20 per cent. Future trends in menswear include: tapered trousers, and low hip and smart fit with Italian cuts. Embroidery usage is less as the main focus is on cuts. Bright and bold checks will be used in making bottom wear in the future.
Denis Parker is present in 800 MBOs. There are two EBOs in Delhi. Now, plans are on to spread network to South India. As Gupta says, “Last season, we saw the market bogged down by a tepid wedding season, swinging American dollar and high cotton prices. But now the company is positive about forthcoming festive and marriage season.”
