Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M has teamed up with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in the Palais du Louvre in Paris for it's latest Conscious Exclusive.

The H&M Conscious Exclusive 2016 collection was inspired by the museum's fashion and art archives. The design team worked closely with the museum, delving into the collections of archival fashion as well as iconic pieces of art from artists such as Gustave Moreau to use as inspiration for the collection.

The result led to a collection consisting of modern, statement pieces infused with a nostalgic touch. H&M also used several new innovative materials for the collection in order to bring a new edge to the sustainable aspect of the collection. "With this collection we brought the idea of sustainability to new levels. Working with new innovative materials such as beads and rhinestones made from recycled glass and Denimite, a material made from recycled worn-out denim. We have created contemporary styles imbued with a sophisticated charm" said Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

The collection launch is set to coincide with the opening of the upcoming exhibition 'Fashion Forward - Three Centuries of Fashion' at the museum on April 7, 2016. The exhibition will also include selected styles from H&M archives, including a look from H&M's first ever designer collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld. The complete collection will launch globally in 189 stores and online at hm.com on April 7, 2016.
