Art Hearts Fashion (AHF), the California-based organiser of Los Angeles Fashion Week Powered by Art Hearts Fashion, is set to expand its presence into Shanghai, China, and Ecuador.

The organisation announced its intention for international growth upon the closure of this season’s LA Fashion Week, where over 30 designers presented their collections at The New Mart in Downtown LA.

After wrapping up the event, AHF said it was looking ahead to its international showcases in Shanghai, scheduled for November, and Ecuador, due in December, “continuing our mission to celebrate global fashion and creativity”.

The focus in LA, meanwhile, was firmly on showcasing both global talent, Black designers and minority creatives.

A highlight of the event was the Black Design Collective Upcycle Denim and Sustainability Project, a community fashion show – held in partnership with Guess Jeans, Wells Fargo and The Salvation Army – for which participants used donated denim and recycled materials to create deconstructed/reconstructed garments.

LA Fashion Week participants like Mister Triple X and Alexis Monsanto also gave a glimpse into AHF’s plans for its China show, with the organisation to “take centre stage at Shanghai Fashion Week”, a press release revealed.

AHF also confirmed that NBA star Lamar Odom, who was in attendance at LA Fashion Week, is set to collaborate through his brand showcase in Shanghai next month.

For AHF, venturing into new markets reflects a wider goal of platforming global talent. The runway production platform, founded in 2010, already operates events across the US, with a diverse and inclusive view that positions the organisation more from a philanthropic lens.
