Fashion Scout one of the largest showcases at London Fashion Week will be showcasing Masaba Gupta at the grand finale for Fashion Scout Spring/Summer ’18. This is one of the largest independent events held during London Fashion Week and highlights emerging talent from around the world. Gupta has been selected as the only Indian designer to present her collection as part of India Day at the event. Designers supported by INIDF (International Institute Of Fashion Design) will be under the spotlight on India Day. The show will take place on September 19, at the Freemasons’ Hall in London

Madagascar, the designer’s label, will present a lineup that is catered to the audience in London. The client overseas may not always want bold striking colours, so she has decided to work with a classic palette of tans and ochres around this line. There will be monochrome that will be appealing to European sensibilities.

Gupta’s shows no signs of resting. Even on a recent holiday in the States, the designer hosted a trunk show in San Jose. Gupta strongly believes travel not only offers a fresh perspective to her design process but also helps in evolving the narrative of the brand. In the next couple of months, Masaba will be hosting a trunk show in Singapore.

Gupta is also showcasing at the Lakme Fashion Week, where she focuses on festive dressing further exploring the Madagascar theme. Among the brand’s many extensions, Gupta recently introduced a line of accessories that include diaries with original design sketches, travel pillows, trays, socks and even custom gifting options for weddings. Despite trying to keep the price range in an affordable range, the younger girls who follow the label might find the clothes too expensive to buy which is why introduced a product range that starts at Rs 299 which is a lot more accessible, she says.
