India Runway Week (IRW) Winter will be held in New Delhi from September 16 to 18, 2016. This is Asia’s youngest fashion trade event. Each season of the IRW introduces new talent and places young Indian designers firmly on the global fashion stage. This is an educational trade event where buyers and media get to see the work of young designers. The whole idea is to get business and recognition for these young designers. It's not just another fashion week but a platform for fashion start-ups of India.

At this event Bangladeshi fashion designer Bibi Russell will showcase a khadi collection. Russell’s line will be made from handspun and hand-woven fabric diversified by art and design intervention, to be made more suitable for the modern context. Russell sees khadi as an occupation to bring high and low, rich and poor together, to show them the dignity of hand labor. She uses fresh colors and one-of-a-kind designs.

The three-day fashion event is being organised by the Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD). It aims to change the focus from known to unknown. IFFD has nurtured fresh fashion talent over three seasons of IRW and provided them with an opportunity to showcase their creativity.
