Sabyasachi Mukherjee will create a spectacular collection for the Lakme Fashion Week grand finale. This will consist of sophisticated red carpet clothing, bridal wear, eastern and western separates, glamorous evening wear done with intricate hand work. The designer will showcase three different stories through his line with some garments taking inspiration from places like Afghanistan, Iran and Kashmir.

The three different stories are: first inspired by night clubs in Paris in the 1920s; second will be the Bauhaus school of strict architecture; third will be Firdaus, which is his current couture collection which is a celebration of the finest quality of needle craft from all across the world especially from Persia, Afghanistan, and Kashmir.

Sabyasachi’s show will be inspired by Lakmé’s theme for the season, Illuminate, which is all about shimmer and luminosity. The designer made his fashion runway debut at Lakme Fashion Week in 2002. The winter-festive 2016 edition of Lakme Fashion Week will take place in Mumbai, August 24 to 28.
