Salty Affair: Mandira Bedi launches beach saris

Actor and designer Mandira Bedi launched her patent collection of beach saris titled ‘Salt’. These saris are tailored for the dramatic and bold women of today who believe in the power of understated glamour and striking a fine balance between elegance and being attractive.

Salt is a prêt line of saris which are made in fabrics like lycra in summer colours and styles that are designed to be fluid and relaxing. The designer reveals that the colour palette is much varied and so are the drapes and patterns. There are three different styles such as solids, constructs and digital prints. The colours are bright red, lime green, powder blue and blush pink. As Bedi points out the idea behind the collection is to let everyone be comfortable in their own skin. Salt, believes Bedi breaks the conventional boundaries by ease of wear, drape and use.

The sari has been inspired by the sarong which means that the pallu can be thrown on before or after a swim. Also, Lycra which is quick to dry, makes it an ideal fabric to carry and cart with its own unique carry pouch. The saris will be priced between Rs 4,500-Rs 8,500 and will be available both at her store and online marketplaces including her own website and Amazon.
