Allen Solly the brand from Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, a division of Adity Birla Fashion and Retail is known for bringing in the concept of ‘Friday Dressing’ to menswear in India. Allen Solly is known as an understated yet upbeat work wear brand. What’s more Allen Solly is also the first brand to introduce work wear for women. And in keeping with its style, the brand now plans to add chinos and denim work wear for women to its collection. As Vandana Gupta, Design Head, Women’s Wear, says “We would be introducing a chino and denim driven work wear line. The looks and styles will be created by mixing knits and layering pieces.”

Women’s work wear in focus

Gupta says “The brand has focused on smart work casuals offering a variety of looks from Friday Dressing to corporate chic, catering to the needs of every customer.” Allen Solly created its own style statements when it entered corporate dressing. Ditching black, grey and white, the brand aimed to add a pop of vibrant personality to formal wear with its range of clothing for women and men. The aim was to create fashionably smart clothes for New Age men and women that express their individual style. Termed as ‘work casuals’ the collection ranges from shirts, T-shirts, chinos, trousers, jeans and jackets for men, while for women the plethora of styles range from dresses, skirts, blouses, pants and tunics. For the coming season the brand has a combination of chic, trendy and functional styles keeping in mind the requirements of a working woman.

Talking about the range Gupta says “One will see a strong play of both cotton and fluid fabrications in our collection of shirts and trousers. Cotton chinos, cotton shirts with soft-hand feel, sharp work dresses and vibrant prints will be the look for the season.” As for fabrics play, it will be a combination of premium textures and fluid fabrications for a feminine tailored look. “We have adopted fabrics and blends like viscose, modal, crepes, soft cottons, PVL and cot/nylon,” informs Gupta.

Meanwhile the brand also plans to introduce a chino and denim driven work wear line for women. And Gupta says the looks and styles will be created by mixing knits and layering pieces. Optimistic about future growth she says the brand is growing at a healthy rate with a strong and loyal consumer base. “We look forward to a good year.”
