This is not the first top level exit from Yebhi. Last year, Nitin Agarwal and Rajul Jain quit the company to start their own ventures. Earlier, board members Rahul Rai, MD of FGPI and Suvir Sujan, co-founder of Nexus Venture Partners had left Yebhi in September 2013.
After changing its business model as product discovery and display platform, picking products retailed on other online websites, e-commerce player Yebhi.com has now tied up with four leading fashion e-tailers including Asos.com, Macys.com, Forever21.com and Shopbop.com , letting consumers shop from these portals. The products, which are mainly apparels and footwear, will be shipped free to Indian consumers within 3-4 days of time.
Speculations about the company shutting shop were rife when the e-tailer started finding it difficult to pay its employees as well as suppliers and vendors last year. On the other hand, there were rumours that Yebhi was restructuring its business to bounce back with fresh perspective. The company started as an online footwear store in 2009, but changed its model in 2011 to sell fashion and apparels and then became a marketplace and now as ecommerce product aggregator.
