Flipkart appoints Samardeep Subandh as CMO

Flipkart has roped in Samardeep Subandh as Chief Marketing Officer. He is the latest top-level executive to join the leading ecommerce firm. Prior to Flipkart, Subandh has spent much of his career at India's largest FMCG conglomerate - Hindustan Unilever.

The statement read that Subandh will be the primary custodian of the Flipkart brand. He will focus on gaining deeper customer insights, raising customer centricity and driving high-level of creativity and quality in all communication.

Recently ex-Unilever executive Sriram Venkataraman joined Flipkart as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Pramod Jain as Vice President (VP) and Head of Taxation.

In November last year, Flipkart assigned responsibilities of running the ecommerce business to Myntra’s Mukesh Bansal, while co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal decided to focus on new businesses supply chain management. The company also roped in Peeyush Ranjan as Chief Technology Officer from Google and Punit Soni, former VP of product management at Motorola, as Chief Product Officer for ecommerce. A top Unilever executive Sudhir Sitapati also joined in as the first of a four member advisory board to help manage and direct fast-paced growth as it looks to turn profitable after seven years in the business.
