Flipkart brings Rishi Vasudev on board to boost fashion business

Leading e-commerce major Flipkart, which earlier acquired fashion portal Myntra to gain an upper-hand in the fashion category has now roped in CEO of Calvin Klein India, Rishi Vasudev as Vice President for fashion retail. Another name that joins the leadership team is Parameswaran Balakrishnan, who joins as Vice President (HR) for supply chain.
Vasudev has over 15 years experience in the fashion and retail industry. He started his career with the Aditya Birla Group and had earlier worked with brands like Louis Philippe and later with Arvind Brands. In his new role, he will spearhead profit and loss for all fashion categories at Flipkart. He would report to Mukesh Bansal, founder of Myntra who is head of fashion unit of the company and also recently took the additional role of head of marketing.
Balakrishnan will look at driving all business partnering, talent acquisition and functional learning and development for supply chain at the company. He has over two decades of experience working with organisations like Toyota and Tata Motors. In his previous assignment, he was heading employee relations and corporate social responsibility of Tata Motors’s India operations.
