Kering appoints chief operating officer

Luxury conglomerate Kering has named Jean-Philippe Bailly as its chief operating officer, effective April 1, 2016.

Bailly, who has served as director of supply chain and procurement at Richemont since 2004, will report to Jean-François Palus, Kering’s managing director and will be a member of the group’s executive committee. He will lead at global level the Supply Chain, Logistics and Industrial Operations.

Commenting on his appointment, a Kering press statement said that Bailly’s experience of multiple brands, multiple products and multiple channel environments would be “beneficial” both for Kering’s industrial and commercial issues and the group’s corporate social responsibility objectives.

Prior to joining Richemont, Bailly work at Valeo as director of logistics and procurement for Europe.

The Kering group of brands includes luxury labels Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Christopher Kane, and Stella McCartney, as well as sportswear brands Puma and Volcom.
