Snapdeal’s Amit Maheshwari to now lead Exclusively.com

Snapdeal.com, owned by Jasper Infotech has made changes at the top with Amit Maheshwari, Senior VP of the fashion category taking over as the CEO of its newly acquired luxury fashion portal Exclusively.com. The company is yet to decide on a successor for Maheshwari. Snapdeal had recently hired Animesh Sharma as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Exclusively.com.

Snapdeal acquired Exclusively.in in February to gain a strong foothold in the high margin fashion space. Competition among Flipkart-Myntra duo, Amazon and Snapdeal as well as Jabong is heating up and each one is busy growing its fashion portfolio.

As the competition among ecommerce rivals toughens, Snapdeal has been focusing on strengthening its senior management team. It recently appointed Anand Chandrasekaran as its Chief Product Officer and brought in former Coca-Cola India marketing director Idi Srinivas as Marketing Head. Founded by Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, Snapdeal has raised over one billion dollars (over Rs 6,800 crores) so far from investors, including Japan’s SoftBank Group.
