In a major top management rejig at e-tailer Jabong, Ranjan Kant has been appointed as chief marketplace officer and Kalyan Kumar as head of merchandise. The company’s top post was lying vacant ever since its co-founders Praveen Sinha and Arun Chandra Mohan quit last year amid speculation that the company was on the block. Kant has moved from Snapdeal, where he was working as head of strategy while Kumar was chief operating officer of Landmark’s Splash Fashion Unit.

Kumar comes with more than 18 years of experience in fashion curation, brands and consumers. At Jabong, he will build the existing portfolio and help to build new and existing international and national brand relationships. Kant, on the other hand, comes with invaluable experience in e-commerce and consulting. He has years of experience in understanding consumers. As Sanjeev Mohanty, CEO and MD, Jabong says, he will help to take the business to higher levels, thus providing value addition to the company.

Jabong started in December 2011 in a one-room office at Gurgaon and is now a part of Global Fashion Group portfolio, which is a subsidiary of German online business developer Rocket Internet. Mohanty joined Jabong recently from Benetton.
