Reputed shawl maker Ahujasons Shawl Wale is planning to expand their retail network and introduce new products. They are looking at Rs 200 crores turnover in the next three years. It will open three-four new stores across the country in the next three years as well as explore opening in London, Dubai and Hong Kong. They are also planning to launch a summer collection made from organic material.

So far the company has been slow on expansion because as Bhuvan Ahuja, Retail Head, Ahujasons Shawl says they work on a company-owned, company-operated model and most of their products are hand-made. As a result, they are not easily available. The company is also looking at making use of its antique shawl collection. In the last one decade the company has acquired nearly 25 shawls from across the world and the process of collection is still on. They are in talks with museums across the world to monetise the shawls. The shawls are available in the price range of Rs 90 lakh to 1 crore.

Ahujasons was founded in 1979 and opened its first store in Delhi. At least 50 per cent of its total turnover comes from exports which is likely to grow once it expands its retail network. Ahuja hopes that in ‘three years domestic business would contribute 70 per cent of its total turnover and 30 per cent sales will come from exports’.
