American retail giant Amazon is trying to woo sellers on its platform by offering various friendly services such as complete backend support in terms of product delivery and payment solutions, including cash on delivery. The complete logistics support would be offered to sellers using the ‘Pay with Amazon’ service.

Other than integrated payment and logistics option, Amazon India also provides an ‘Easy Ship’ service through which Amazon takes care of delivery from the seller's inventory when an order is placed. The company has seen that the average transaction is around 25 percent higher for sellers using Amazon payment system against those who have only listed their products and sell through other payment modes.

Nearly 400 sellers, including Cafe Coffee Day and Amar Chitra Katha, have so far registered for Amazon's payment service, which is just one percent of the total seller base. However, now with its new cash on delivery option, the company aims to attract many sellers as more than half the sales on the online are done through cash on delivery.

Amazon, which has been pursuing its India plans aggressively since the last two years, is now looking at making its India business the biggest outside the US.
