Textile and apparel Arvind, has drawn up ambitious plans to expand its domestic retail network with a target of having 10,000 outlets. It’s also aiming to establish itself more strong in the overseas markets over the next couple of years.

Susheel Kaul, CEO-lifestyle fabrics (shirting, khaki and knitwear) Arvind Limited says over the last two months, 300 multi-brand outlets were added across the county. For example, the brand has about 100 MBOs in West Bengal alone, which they plan to take to 400 by March 2017.

The company is banking heavily on its premium fabric, Tresca, which is available in shirting, suits, linen and as wool blends, to expand its retail base. Shridhar Soni, Head, Sales and Marketing, Arvind DTR business said that this is the only premium brand to come out with a print collection as other brands in this category are only limited to yarn-dyed offerings. This innovation apparently has appealed to consumers and is reflected in the rapid 25 per cent growth in Tresca’s network in the two months since it was launched, he added.

Arvind also has plans to take Tresca to other countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and even West Asia in a bid to expand its overseas base.
