As per market study, the size of ladies handbag market in India is estimated at around Rs 2,500 crores. The segment is projected to grow by 15 percent per year, to reach the Rs 4,000 crores-mark over the next five years. The key growth drivers for brands in the segment are: increasing number of working women, rising incomes, increasing fashion-consciousness and aspiration levels, and influx of foreign brands.
