Bani Khurana, Indianroots collaborate to retail collection

Designer Bani Khurana has joined hands with e-commerce platform Indianroots, an initiative of NDTV, to sell her creations online. The designer has unveiled her latest Spring/Summer range on the website. The price range of the collection starts at Rs 5,000.

Khurana is an Indo-fusion brand. All the garments are of modern taste and consist of evening gowns, brunch dresses and outfits for social outings. A recent report by Google-Forrester said India will have 100 million online shoppers by 2016 and India's e-tailing market will touch 15 billion dollars (about Rs 92,600 crores) by then, up from just about three billion dollars (over Rs 18,500 crores) now even as the customer base is expected to grow to 100 million by 2016 from 35 million this calendar.

NDTV launched its ecommerce business with Indianroots in July 2013, which focuses on Indian ethnic wear retailing products like women’s apparel that includes saris, lehengas , salwar kameez and kurtis and men’s apparel including sherwanis , kurta pyjamas and jackets. It also offers accessories like jewelry, bags, wraps and others along with home furnishing and stationery products.

The company is said to have partnered with over 500 brands including AND, Aikya, Anouk, Bombay Dyeing, Indian Artizans, Tamaara Couture, TwoPeople India and Rang Banarasi as well as over 50 designers like Rajdeep Ranawat, Anita Dongre, Deepika Govind, Manoviraj Khosla, Rohit Bal and others.
