Bewakoof.com, launched by Prabhkiran Singh and Siddharth Munot in 2012
expanded its portfolio, to offer exclusive movie merchandise. The journey
that began with 2012 with Bollywood flick Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of
Wasseupur has now led to the portal partnering various production
houses like YRF, T-Series, Viacom18, and Zee TV among others. Their
portfolio includes big league films like Gunday, Gangs of Wasseypur 1
and 2, Singham Returns, Bewakoofiyaan, Yaariyan, Fukrey, Boss, Son of
Sardaar, One by Two and Sholay 3D.
Bewakoof has now emerged one of the leading platforms for Bollywood merchandise. They work closely with the production houses to unveil innovative range, inspired by the mood of the film. Apart from offering movie merchandise, the web platform also offers a wide range of apparels and lifestyle products.
Recently, Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal invested an undisclosed amount in the Mumbai-based online apparel startup. Along with Former IDFC Securities Managing Director and co-head of Research, Nikhil Vora has also invested in his personal capacity. The company was selling its product on its own store and on marketplaces, however now it has decided to switch to a destination model.
