A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation (Jharcraft) and Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society (Co-optex). Co-optex has over 200 outlets across the country. Jharcraft products will be displayed at Co-optex showrooms across the country. Co-optex will also display its products at Jharcraft outlets.

While Co-optex produces a huge variety of handloom products, it does not produce Tussar silk. Hence, Jharcraft will use the platform to publicise and sell Tussar silk produced in Jharkhand. If required, both will train the staff of the other company to sell their products.

Since 2013, Jharcraft has been displaying its products at Shoppers Stop. Also there have been similar MoUs signed with Trifed and Esaf for displaying Jharcraft products at their stores. Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation was incorporated in 2006. It was established to develop and support sericulture farmers, weavers and artisans living in remote areas of Jharkhand. The organisation is entrusted with the role of implementation of government-funded schemes to promote Tussar silk, handloom and handicraft of the state.

Co-optex has a countrywide network of 203 showrooms. It has an annual turnover of around Rs 1,000 crores.
